Cole gets recount

Posted Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at 10:00 AM

Incumbent Clay County Sheriff Ronnie Cole has requested, and will recieve, a recount of the votes in last Tuesday's Democratic Primary election.

Changes in the election day numbers, and problems in other parts of the state were cited by Cole in making the request along with the urging of citizens throughout the county.

The recount will be handled by poll workers from the four corners of the county Thursday at the Corning courthouse.

We'll post the details of the recount when they're complete and will have the complete story in the June 4 print version of The Piggott Times

Is this a case of a sore loser?

Just like in the 2000 Presidential election recount....there is NOTHING wrong with a complete recount of votes. Double checking is a good thing. I dont' blame any candidate for requesting one. I doubt it will matter, but there's nothing wrong with doing it.
