In the first round the Tribe got by Episcopal Collegiate 25-11, 25-19 and 25-19 in a match played at noon Tuesday. Wednesday at noon they easily beat Cave City 25-20, 25-19 and 25-12 to make it into Thursday's semi. In the other quarterfinals Crowley's Ridge Academy fell to Lavaca in four games, Brookland got by Fountain Lake in five games and Mansfield swept St. Joseph. Mansfield then went on to eliminated Brookland 25-17, 25-24 and 25-10. For the Lady Mohawks they took Lavaca to four games, as they won the first 25-23, then dropped the final three 17-25, 14-25 and 20-25. This will mark the first time in several years that the 3A-Northeast conference is not represented in the final match. Congratulations to Coach Melissa Williams and the Lady Mohawks for an excellant run this year. And on the plus side, the Tribe will only lose two seniors; Kenna Dennis and Kaitlin Morgan, and will pick up some young talent from this year's conference runner-up junior high squad. |
