Bank of PiggottPosted Monday, June 16, 2008, at 3:42 PM
The Building in this photo burned in 1925 and was replaced by the current building which was occupied by the bank until January of 1930. After the Bank of Piggott was declared insolvent by the State Bank Dept. the building and fixtures were taken over by the newly organized Piggott State Bank with Paul M. Pfeiffer as president and T. W. Leggett, Sr. as cashier. Some of the safety deposit boxes in Piggott State Bank today belonged to the Bank of Piggott. |
Jim Poole has called Piggott home for many years. Here, he reflects on items of historical interest to the region.
