Well, it was true. March came in like a lion and went out like a lamb. Beautiful days are now following us into April. Somewhat warmer than usual for this time of year, but still comfortable. Reminds me of the weather in Southern California. Now if we can just get it to last for another eight months.
Did anyone get pranked on April Fool's Day? My mother was born on April 1, 1923. Her mother had had a tumor a few years earlier and she thought she had another one. They didn't go to doctors very often back then. Mother's sisters were nine and fourteen and Grandma thought she couldn't have more babies. So April 1 rolled around and all of a sudden, Grandma was in labor. Grandma always said Mother was her best ever April Fool's Day Surprise!
Jessie Malin is having exploratory surgery today so keep her in your prayers and we will talk more about her next week.
Sherry Wallace has been having some heart problems. She appreciates all the prayers you have sent to her. In a few weeks she is planning to have a pacemaker and/or a defibrillator implanted. Her spirits are great. I think her handsome heart doctor has something to do with that.
Congratulations to Haven Cagle for securing a date for "Arkansas Arts Celebration Advocacy." There will be proclamations for the Governor to sign and for the Mayors to sign. Good work, Haven. Art is an important part of our heritage and our future.
The Rector Community Center Committee is taking orders for Boston Butts and pork steaks to be cooked and ready later on this month. Butts are $25 and steaks are $10. You can call me if you want one or sign up at the Rector Water Department. All proceeds are going to the improvement and maintenance of the Community Center.
Every time I drive down Main Street I am impressed all over again with our Veterans Park. It is a real jewel in our little town.
Hey! You did know that Anna Wimberly turned 8 this weekend didn't you. She had the most beautiful birthday cake and she designed it herself. Happy Birthday, Anna.
I suppose I had better go. I need to get to work on my tax return. Nothing like waiting 'til the last minute. Of course I just might get out and enjoy the sunshine. Let me know what is going on with you. You can email me at: email@example.com or call me (870) 595-3173. You can even drop me a line at 514 West 3rd St., Rector AR. Bye for now. Stay safe and enjoy life. And do something nice for someone you don't know. It is a good trend.
Bless our military everywhere.
