We are enjoying some very nice weather today, so far. Cooler and sunny at the present. Last week, when my upstairs air-conditioning unit was on the fritz, not-so-much. Apparently, the drain from my unit stopped up and as it wrung gallons of humidity out of the air it had nowhere to go but down. Down into my office below. On Friday afternoon - before Father’s Day. Took several days to get repairmen here, but all is well now.
On a more positive note, I now have the cover for my book ready and am inching closer to launch date every day. Check out the facebook page. Echoes From The Ashes.
Also as I waited at home for the elusive repairmen, I found a large sweetheart of a dog. He had a rope on his collar that was caught on some debris by the light pole on the corner with just enough length to reach the middle of the street. He has been visiting with me since then. Looks like a reddish-brown lab mix. Give me a call if you have been looking for this guy. He looks well cared for and is such a friendly fellow I can’t imagine someone isn’t missing him.
Again, the Movie in the Park was a great success. Evidently, kids like Legos. And I guess they still like Batman too, everyone enjoyed the movie and the fun time in the park. The next one, and last one for this year, will be July 10. This time it will be Zootopia. The kids will really like this one too, I am sure.
The Fourth of July is just around the corner now. A week from tomorrow. This is the time we used to come to Arkansas when I was a child. The picnic at Piggott was one of my favorite things to do. Cotton candy and snow cones made sure my brother and I were hot sticky messes by the end of the day. My grandmother, Juanita Vineyard and my great aunt, Eulalia Fitzgerald always made sure I had a good time and a good bath after I got back to their houses.
Congratulations to the Diamond Backs! USSSA State Runner ups! Good job all!
