It’s almost Christmas, just a week to go. The grown-ups have all just about run out of steam by now, but they will rally for one more party, I’m sure. The children, of course are in constant motion, virtually vibrating with excitement as they anticipate Santa’s arrival. And I am sure, absolutely certain they are all very, very good. Right?
Those in between, the teenagers and young adults, are balancing school and family and parties and studying. Every year is new, every season a learning experience. They don’t yet realize what an exciting time of their life this is and how vivid the memories of today will be when they are old and much more used to the rhythm of life.
I do hope you are all enjoying the holiday cheer and feeling the love of the season. Be kind to your neighbor and be kind to yourself as well. It is way too easy to over-do this time of year. And really the only important thing is love. You’ve got that.
I want to welcome Grey Boyd to town, to this world, and to life. Hello, tiny boy, most loved. Congratulations to Jason and Sarah Boyd. Just look what you made together. Now don’t let those grandparents spoil him too much. Oh never-mind. I don’t believe grandparents CAN spoil too much. I know Christmas is going to be special for you this year.
I checked this morning and even though we had some rain in some parts of the county, we are still under a burn ban. The drought has not been broken. So still no open burning and as always, use caution with open flames and combustibles. Keep southern California in mind as they continue to battle wild fires and high winds.
Be alert. As always these days there are several scams going around now and many phishing scams. Happy Last Day of Hanukkah. Merry Christmas and Happy Yule. Celebrate safely and enjoy the holiday. Now quick go get those last minute Christmas gifts and sing a Christmas carol while you’re at it.
With that I will close. Give me a call or send me an email if there is something you would like me to write about in the column.
