Well the heat goes on and we have apparently done something to annoy Mother Nature to the point that she is never going to allow us rain again. Hopefully, I am exaggerating, but geeze! It rains in Kennett, it rains in Piggott, Paragould and Corning, and we don’t even get a good sprinkle. Really! Is that fair? I am ready for a good soaking, rainy day. I say this knowing that the east coast is right this minute getting drenched.
I had some problems with my computer last week. Wednesday afternoon, for some reason, I lost my wi-fi capability. The little icon wasn’t even there. I couldn’t find it in the tool bar or in settings. It was gone. No Facebook No email. Not even able to print anything. Couldn’t do any work on the websites, or pretty much anything I had planned to work on. So off I went to Jonesboro to the Geek Squad. I just hate it when the technician wrinkles his brow and hmmms, then says, “Oh wow. I’ve never seen this before.” So, I left it there for diagnostics, they fixed it and even tuned it up a bit, optimizing my disk and all. I did survive four days without my computer, but I wasn’t all that happy about it.
During that four days I aged. No, I literally aged. I had a birthday, turned 72. I was treated to a lovely lunch at the Avocado Grill in Paragould by my life-long BFF, Carol Stone, and then we went to see Mama Mia 2. Thoroughly enjoyed everything. Special thank you to Carol.
Janice Pruett is currently at Health South in Jonesboro, following surgery, as they rehab her and get her ready to come home. I know that will be a welcome day. In the mean-time, Janice, we are all wishing you well and hurry home.
Another scam to watch out for. Some of the banks are reporting their customers are getting a message saying that there has been an attempted withdrawal from your card and giving a phone number to call. It may also give you a text address. DO NOT call the number listed or reply to the text. It is a good idea not to reply to any text from a person you don’t know and never install an app that does not come from an official app store. And of course, do not allow anyone into your computer you don’t know either. Once they gain access they can leave crumbs and steal your information. Be careful. Seems like there is a new scam out all the time.
Guess I will end this now. Stay cool and enjoy some summer fun. Let me know what is going on in your life and I will share it with everyone else. Email: email@example.com . Phone number (870) 595-4997. Check out your Rector, Arkansas website: www.rectorarkansas.com from time to time. I love to be told I need to update it and I take all suggestions to heart. Take a look.
Goodbye for now.
