Sunshine! Finally! We haven’t had much really cold weather and hardly any snow or ice, but we have had the rain. And it’s not going away just yet. But today, we have sunshine and it does look good to me. Don’t, however, make the mistake of thinking it is toasty outside. You are going to want to bundle up.
I had a really good time at the Rector Community Museum, last Thursday. Their Valentine’s Day Music and Sweet Memories event was a terrific community experience. We met some of our neighbors we didn’t know and shared some stories. It was fun getting to know how everyone met their soul mates. Chrissy Pazanowski sang some beautiful romantic songs for our entertainment. I always love listening to her sing. I have it on good authority that there will be more storytelling events in the future, so start thinking about what you want to share. You can visit the museum’s Facebook page for pictures and current information. https://www.facebook.com/rectormuseum/ .
A meeting of the Democratic party will be held at the Rector City Hall on Thursday February 23 at 6:00.pm This is a good time for like minded Democrats to share ideas and find out what is happening in our area.

I was saddened to hear that Cathy Manning passed this weekend after a long illness. Cathy has been a familiar face in Rector for many years and she will be missed. God’s speed, to you Cathy and prayers for your family.
Keeping Ronda Haney in your thoughts and prayers, you can help defray the out-of-pocket expenses they are facing. There is an account at Centennial Bank, 809 East 9th St., Rector. The account is in the name of Ronda Haney and Alex Green. You can also contribute through Paypal: https//www.paypal.me/rondaandalex . And if you would like a snazzy bracelet, go to the Facebook page of Sarah Pruett Boyd. She has hand made bracelets for sale with all the proceeds going to Ronda and Alex.
Also mark your calendars for March 30th we will be celebrating Vietnam Veterans Memorial Day again. This year the featured honorees will be Purple Heart recipients.
