We really do seem to have turned that corner and slipped into springtime. There are buds on all the trees and flowers coming up everywhere. The temperatures have been wonderfully mild. It is one of my favorite seasons. Moderate temperatures and sunshine are truly a welcome experience after the long cold winter. Welcome Spring. Please be kind to us.
Saturday, March 30th, I hope you will come out to Rector to help us honor our Veterans. March 29th is National Vietnam Veterans Memorial Day and we will celebrate on Saturday with a parade. We will also pay special tribute to veterans who have received the Purple Heart. The parade will begin at 2:00 p.m. followed by a program to honor the recipients of Purple Hearts medals and to recognize all veterans. Entertainment will be provided by Chrissy Jennings Pazanowski, formerly of Rector. Speakers will include Everett Evans, of the Northeast Arkansas Chapter 709 Commander of the Military Order of Purple Heart. All veterans of all wars are invited to walk in our parade or we will provide you with a ride. Vietnam Veterans are also invited to a free fish dinner provided by the men of the First United Methodist Church. We will have a back up plan in the event of a rainout so check the Facebook page of Vietnam Veterans Welcome Home.
For more information on these events you may contact: firstname.lastname@example.org 870-595-4053 or Christa Hedrick 870-595-4997. We hope to see you then.
Kelsey and Blake Bishop welcomed a rather impatient Beau Bennet Bishop into the world on March 22. He’s a tiny little guy with a big job ahead of him, but he’s working hard, so send them your love and prayer or two.
Yet another victory for Hayden Crancer and Louie. Best in Show and Owner Handled Best in Show at the Woodsong Delta Blues Show. You can see their picture in the Canine Chronicle along with that great big beautiful ribbon. Oh yes, Hayden’s smile is dazzling. Congratulations, Hayden, Emma and Louie.
