O My Stars...Why do we have school in May

O My Stars!.....can you believe that I am writing a blog?!!! That is just crazy!! I have been sitting around thinking and pondering what I could write about that other people might be interested in reading!...Hmmmmmmmmm. The things that interest me may bore everyone else to tears, but I am willing to give it a shot.

I was wondering why we really do have school in May? I mean, it doesn't really matter to me anymore because my boys graduated a few years ago, but as I watch and listen to the parents and students all round me I do remember what a whirlwind month it was for us. Between end of the year banquets, field trips, movie day, basketball tournaments, baseball games (not the school baseball games the ones that are played at night, four times a week, at dumb hours like 8 pm and last 2 hours, meaning that you are not going to get your child in bed until at least 10:30 pm at night and then have to get them up for school at 7 am to get ready for field day or movie day or....O My Stars!!! You get it right?) And the poor teachers!!!! Can you imagine trying to "GET IN" the last month of lessons? Nobody wants to be there the last month of school!!! NOBODY! I am exhausted just thinking about all the stuff we try to get in during the month of May. But..I thank God that I live in the United States of American so that I am able to choose what I do during May and every other day of the year. God has placed us here for a reason. He decided that I get to have this freedom and I am very thankful for every full day of chaos. Really, I would never ever want to do without my May days of running doing school activities with my boys. I cherish them deep in my heart! Besides that, if we didn't have school in May, then April would be crazy!!!
