WEIGHT LOSSPosted Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at 3:34 PM
Oh my stars......as many of you know, I lead, oversee, start, whatever you want to call it, two exercise classes at the Northeast Arkansas Innovative Training Center in Rector (the building were Barber's Grocery Store or where the General Dollar use to be, you know, across from NAPA). The first class is at 5:30 am! Yes! AM! But, boy howdy! Your day sure starts off great getting up and exercising at that time in the morning. During that class we do 3 days of cardio and two days are devoted to weight training. I try and make sure that class is a little more advanced and last right at an hour. I mean if you are getting up at 5:30 a.m. let's make it worth it!
The evening class is at 6 pm. That is still a hard time to exercise, between homework, baseball, basketball, laundry, and cooking supper, but we have to start carving out time for to exercise somewhere in your day. Really. Morning or night? During one of the evening classes, I was telling the class about a pretty tough workout we had just finished in the morning class. It was a 90 day program, focusing more on muscle building and strengthening than on cardio. When we get older our metabolism starts slowing down and it seems even when we cut our caloric intake we are still gaining weight! That is where is program comes in, muscle burns fat! Let me say that again. Muscle burns fat! Which in turns increases your metabolism. The more fat you burn the leaner your body is... Anyway, I was telling this class that when Robin and I had started this program in October 2009 and after our first thirty days Robin had lost around 14 inches!! WOW!! I am still proud of her. The evening class got really interested and started asking me questions then they finally ask if we could do the 90 day program at 6 p.m. Sure!! We started this program on June 1, and we measured our chest, arms, thighs, waist, hips and measured our body fat. We sat those numbers to the side and did not look at them again UNTIL...July 5. July 5 started the first day of the second phase of this program, and guess what! We had to measure! I told the girls that I was going to do this so don't think that I am embarrassing them or putting them on the spot but I am so stinking proud of them I just can't wait to tell you how great they did last month. Katrina McAfee lost a total of 9 inches and 5% of her body fat! OUTSTANDING JOB TRINA!!!! Jamie Dowdy lost 4 inches and 3.5% of her body fat! FABULOUS! We have a new person in class now and I hope they have great results next month when we re-measure in August. The NEAITC is a wonderful place, this week they are holding KIDS COLLEGE. Jacinda Welch has worked really hard in applying for grants and overseeing renovations. There are several class rooms, a weight room and an exercise room. GREAT JOB TO YO JACINDA and THANK YOU!! Barbie, you really rock.
THANKS CHRISTA!!! YOU ARE A GEM!!
I have tried to lose weight for long using various methods but it kept coming back. Then I heard about an ayurvedic solution called Aryoga in the US (manufactured) and it has helped me lose weight naturally and easily. Now I hear that they are launching it in India too at a much cheaper price and is being called Go Lite. You should try this too. Check out their website here: www.golite.in
Thanks so much for the info. But, I need the exercise! I need my bones, and heart strong. Also, exercising twice a day helps get all the impurties out of my system. And exercise makes everyone around me feel better because it makes me feel wonderful!!
