Jacob Trout, Sr. (1796-1892), son of John Trout and Mary B. Nuckols Trout, was born in Rowen Co., North Carolina and died in Hamilton Co., Illinois. Jacob Sr. and Mary Ann McMillion were married in Oldham, Ky. Dec. 7, 1824 and known children are Melinda and Jacob Jr. Jacob Sr. and Mary are buried in Ten Mile Cemetery, McLeansboro, Hamilton Co., Ill.
Jacob (Jake) Trout, JR. (1834-1904), son of Jacob Trout, Sr. and Mary Ann McMillion Trout, was on the 1900 Clay Co. Census with his third wife, Delilah Jane Bennett Polsgrove Trout, and her son, by her first marriage, John William Polsgrove, the son of I. N. Polsgrove.
Jacob, JR. had been married to Mary Phelps and had seven children in Illinois, and to Martha Ann (Irene) Forbes and had John Franklin Trout. Jacob, Jr. had lived in Hamilton Co. Ill. in 1850; in White Co. in 1860; in Franklin County in 1870 and 1880. Jacob, Jr. is buried in Gravel Hill Cemetery near St. Francis.
John Franklin (Frank) Trout (1878-1958) was born in McLeansboro, Hamilton Co., Ill. to Jacob (Jake) and Martha Forbes Thompson Baker, daughter of Armstead and Sarah J. Forbes, and died in Piggott at the age of 79. He married Jennie Bratcher (1885-1961), daughter of Moses and Alzy Jane Barnwell Bratcher, on August 12, 1900 in Piggott. They both had services in the Piggott General Baptist Church with burial in the Piggott Cemetery. Their children were Orvil, Ralph, Mary Rosetta, Madeline, Marvin, Paul and Virgie Lee Trout.
Orvil Trout (1902-1961) was the son of John Franklin and Jennie, and other information is not available.
Ralph Albert Trout (1904-1974), son of John Franklin and Jennie, was born in Piggott and died in the Methodist Hospital in Memphis at age 70. He was first married to Louise Rosetta (Rose) Tanner in 1927 and six children were born with two preceding the parents: Laverne Nicholas, Howard Ray Trout, David Trout, and Don Earl Trout. Ralph’s second marriage was to Marie Holifield, daughter ofWilliam I. and Laura Williams Holifield, who had been married to Harlan Craig and had Leroy Craig, and had married Harry W. Price after Ralph died. Marie left three daughters, Laverne Nicholas of Mich., Janice Chandler of Pollard, Martha Schlagel of Ill., and six sons, David A. Trout, Gary Ballard of Pollard, Don Earl of Paragould, Karl Price of Ill., Bill Price of Ill., and Joe Ballard of Piggott. Ralph is buried in Cummins Chapel Cemetery.
Mary Rosetta Trout (1906-1986), daughter of John Franklin and Jennie, married Robert C. Tanner and had Ray W., an infant daughter, Pat Tanner, Virginia Carmon, Donna Haywood, Mary Bradford, and Lois Bradford. Mary and Robert are buried in Piggott.
Madeline Trout (1908-1979), daughter of John Franklin and Jennie, married Walter Riddle in 1924 and had Edward L., Joey Michael, Stella Mae Whaley, Sandra Sue Sears, and Carolyn Ann Hughes.
Marvin M. Trout, Sr. (1911-1972), son of John Franklin and Jennie, was born in Piggott and died in Battle Creek, Mich. HE had two sons, Marvin, Jr. and James O. Trout.
