He was married to Elizabeth Loyd (1834- ) in Monroe Co., Tenn. In 1850, William P., 18, is living with his parents and sisters, Mary Ann 24, Amanda 22, and brother Humphrey 13 in Monroe Co., Tenn. In 1860, William P. is living with his wife Elizabeth, children, Martha A., Mary M., John T., and Susan, in Williamson Co., Illinois. In 1880, they are in Clay Co., Ark. in Johnson Township.

John Thomas Pendergrass (1858-1907) was born in Williamson Co., Ill. and died in Clarkton, Dunklin Co., Mo. He was married about 1879 in Clay County, Ark. to Sarah Francis Baird (1860-1901), daughter of Thomas Baird and Irene Stewart Baird. Sarah also died in Clarkton and is buried in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Dunklin Co., Mo. Their children were: William Thomas who married Rebecca L. Wallan and settled in Pemiscot Co., Mo.; Luther Alonzo was born at Malden, Mo.; Mary Adeline was born in Clay Co., Ark.; Lillie Irene was born in Mo.; James Arthur was born in Dunklin Co., Mo.; Bessie Lee and Nellie were born in Missouri.

William Riley Pendergrass (1863-1898) was born in Illinois and married Betty Price (1863- ) and Mary Jane Phillips Hall (1862-1930). Betty Price Pendergrass had William Green Pendergrass (1892-1946) and he died at Little Rock when struck by a car. William Green Pendergrass married Nellie Mae Reagan (1895-1982), daughter of Harm and Ludia Reagan. William and Nellie had these children: Norma May, William Abner, Sharron G., Edna, Joyce J., W. G., and Bobby S. Pendergrass. After his mother died, William Green Pendergrass was reared by an uncle, Bob Price, in Missouri. Mary Jane Phillips married William Herbert Hall and had Maud Hall and Marion Hall before she married William Riley Pendergrass in 1894 and he died three years later. She and William Riley had Beulah and Virgie Pendergrass. After Wm. Riley died, Mary Jane married J. M. Hutchison and had Grace Hutchison.
Emily Emma Pendergrass (1864-1955) was born in Illinois and died in Dunklin Co., Mo. She married George W. Maddux (1862-1902) in 1891 in Clay Co., and they are buried in Oakland Cemetery, Kennett, Mo. Their children were Mona E. who married Louis Pinkney Lester, and they are buried in Kennett; James Loyd married Flossie N. Blair and is buried in Rector; Joseph Eltie died in Dunklin Co.,; and Donald Ray Maddux is buried in the Maddux Cemetery five miles north of Rector. Emily’s second marriage was to Thomas Pitts in 1908.
