Fun at the Clay County Fair

Rain may have dampened the final day of this year's fair, but the annual event continues to improve.
Cool and damp conditions were the order of the day for the annual Clay County Fair parade.

The 4-H members arrived at the fairgrounds a little damp, but enjoyed the parade. Their float took second place in that competition this year.

With a light rain falling, the Ryan Pounds Memorial Show Barn served as tech-inspection area for the demolition derby. Luckily the rain ended and the derby was a big success.
Late Saturday the rains ended and several kids took advantage of the chance to try-out the Spider Jump ride.

Winners in the teen division of the Clay County Fair Youth Talent Contest included a dance group from Walnut Ridge, Haven Cagle of Rector and Jim Copelin of Piggott.
Overall winnner in the Youth Talent Contest was Megan Johnson of Piggott.
