June featured several busy nights at Piggott's Independence Park, and actually the facility celebrated it's 20th birthday that month too.

The girl's softball diamond stays busy during city play too, and has hosted some post season tournaments.
We run a lot of photos of ribbon cuttings, here's what it looks like moments later. Pretty obvious that this was at Burns Floor Covering. One note of trivia--this building also housed KTEI-FM when the radio station was still located in Piggott.
Deanna Dismukes (left) retired from the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum Educational Center at the end of June. She's shown visiting here with another recent retiree, Ethel Mohler, who retired after a long teacher career from PES this spring.
The Piggott R/C Modelers hosted their annual fun fly, and renamed the local field in honor of Paul Pfeiffer. These two veterans of the sport were caught talking things over, and share between them decades of experience. On the right is Bill Mayo and on the left is Bobby Baker.

Lady Mohawk volleyball coach Melissa Williams held a camp in June. As is tradition, the girls were allowed to mug for the camera after getting a good group picture for the newspaper. These are seldom seen by anyone but the reporter and coaches, so enjoy.

The Piggott Public Pool also marked a milestone, as it celebrated 30 years of service this year. This shot was taken during the Fun Day held Friday, July 2.
With several teams making it to post-season play there were plenty of roadblocks held at the four-way-stop in Piggott.
