A machinist at Emerson Electric in Kennett, he was born Sept. 3, 1948, in Clay County to the late Jim Franklin Yancey and Ruth Ann (Gatlin) Yancey. A number of Rector residents are hard at work on Rector's second annual free Thanksgiving dinner, and organizers hope the event will be a huge success. The meal, set for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, Nov. 22), is open to anyone in the Rector school district.
