City looking at emergency contact system for residents

Work is steadily progressing on Rector High School's new athletic facility. Superintendent Rob Louder told board members Thursday night, July 6, that a Labor Day end date still is feasible. "Construction is going extremely well," he said. "If all of the contractors stay on schedule, they should be out by Labor Day, and we may be in the building by the second week of September." High-speed chase ends in arrest, vehicle damage

A high-speed chase which began Saturday morning, July 8, in Rector ended about nine minutes later on a county road in Missouri when the engine on the fleeing vehicle caught fire and the car came to a stop. Twenty-one year old Carolyn Glasgow of Rector was taken into custody by Kennett officers. Charges currently are pending from the Rector Police Department. Officers said Glasgow possibly fled because there is a county warrant for her arrest in another matter...
