Independence Day tradition continues at Piggott picnic

The city of Piggott will mark Independence Day this weekend with the annual Fourth of July Picnic and Homecoming Celebration. Due to the holiday falling on Sunday, the majority of activities and events will be held Saturday, July 3. Activities at the picnic grounds get underway Friday, July 2, with an armband promotion on the midway and the first of the pageants for 2010. ...

Senior Jessica Davis has been chosen as drum major for the Piggott High School Marching Mohawk band for the coming school year. Davis, along with members of the color guard, attended Frontlines Camp at Williams Baptist June 8 to 12. Throughout the week Davis learned several routines, and was evaluated on each--earning four out of five superior ratings. ...
