Arts Council honors Pruett (Local News ~ 06/11/12)
The Clay County Arts Council, Inc., ended its 2011-2012 season Saturday night with a Celebration of the Arts honoring Joey Pruett. Pruett was a perfect choice because of all he has done and continues to do for the community. Without a doubt he has been involved in just about every program performed in the Rector Community Center and almost all the school plays since he was in high school. Did you read in the news where an 80-year old woman skydived for the first time and it turned into a near tragedy? When her parachute popped, it almost jerked the chute off her shoulders and she was left dangling, barely able to hold on. Her tandem partner saved her by holding onto her until they made a landing. It was a scary thing to watch on YouTube as she was bent double as she spiraled to the ground...
