The Corning Area Theatrical Society (C.A.T.S.) handed out two $250 scholarships to students in Clay County this spring, and the winner of the Eastern District prize was Bailey Haney of Rector High School. On Wednesday, May 14, Haney (right) accepted her scholarship award from C.A.T.S. member Beverly Scott. During the gathering the JP's adjusted the current budget, passed a resolution setting HUD payment standards for subsidized housing and re-visiting the issue of pay raises for members of the road department. Fishing rodeo set for Saturday

The Piggott Parks and Recreation Department, and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, are hosting the annual fishing rodeo from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 24. The fishing rodeo is free and open to young people up to age 15 and those 60 and over.
