Fred Henry Johnson

Fred Henry Johnson, 74, of Piggott, formerly of Rector, died Saturday, April 28, 2001, at Piggott Nursing Center.

Mr. Johnson was born July 4, 1926, in Clay County to the late Robert and Nanny Watson Johnson.

A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a cook in the Navy and in various restaurants. He was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church in Paragould and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the Foreign Legion.

Survivors include a very special companion and friend, Ruby Faye Johnson of Piggott; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Barbara Johnson of Jonesboro; two brothers, Robert "Bud" Johnson, wife Lelah and son Neil of Paragould, and Wayne Johnson of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; two grandchildren, Tony Johnson and Tonya Fox; four great-grandchildren, Ron Wiles, Meredith Watson, Brian Motes and Chrissy, and a brother-in-law, Paul Seegraves of Poplar Bluff.

Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, at Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Paul Seegraves officiating. Irby Funeral Home of Rector was in charge of arrangements.
