LaWanda Lucille Fox
LaWanda Lucille Fox, 83, of Chester, Ill., died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2001, at St. Ann's Heathcare Center in Chester.
She was born Dec. 28, 1917, in Clay County, the daughter of the late Charles C. and Dora Fife Clements.
She married Barney T. Fox on Nov. 27, 1936, in Clay County. He preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Clements, and three sisters, Novada Pole, Roberta Corder and Maxine Clements.
She was a Methodist and was a member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary in Red Bud, Ill.
She is survived by two sons, Omer and Norma Lee Fox of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Bobby and Ruth Fox of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two daughters, Lucille Eskin of Arizona and Debbie Hanbeck of Newton, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, at Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Piggott with Jerry Morgan officiating.
Burial was in Gravel Hill Cemetery near St. Francis with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were friends and relatives of the family.
