Imogene Cullum

Imogene Cullum, 84, of Piggott died Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at the Piggott Nursing Center.

She was born Nov. 5, 1917, in Rector, the daughter of the late Charley B. and Lula Mae Beckley Hooks.

She married Jesse J. Cullum on Nov. 17, 1934. To this union two children were born.

She was a member of the South Thornton Street Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Joyce Knuckles, and two brothers, J.C. Hooks and Geraine Hooks.

She is survived by her husband, Jesse; one son, Sherman Cullum and wife, Linda, of Hickory Ridge, Ark.; one grandson, Lin Cullum of Harrisburg; one granddaughter, Brenda Joyce Ward of Cantonment, Fla.; two great-grandchildren, Eric and Caitlin Rodriguez; one sister, Floretta Tanner of Piggott; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, at the South Thornton Street Church of Christ with C. Ray Miller and Richard Akins officiating.

Burial was in Piggott Cemetery with Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Arvel Pratt, Don Trout, Jerry Morgan, Dennis Blake, Donald Blake and Terry Pollard.

Honorary pallbearers were Joyce Cluck, Donajo Simpson, Larry Simpson, Dr. Hillard Duckworth, Wayne Collier, Eric Jones and nieces.

Memorials may be made to the South Thornton Street Church of Christ or to the Children's Home in Paragould.
