Mary Frances James

Mary Frances James, 81, of Piggott died Friday, March 22, 2002, at Piggott Community Hospital.

She was born June 11, 1920, in Rector, the daughter of the late S.P. "Pete" and Pearl Parks Woods.

She married John Wesley James on Aug. 31, 1940. To this union two children were born.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Piggott.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley, in 1969 and one brother, Dewey Woods.

She is survived by one son, Johnny Mack James and wife, Sharon, of McKinney, Texas; one daughter, Nancy Shanklin and husband, Bobby, of Piggott; three grandchildren, Allison McBride and husband, Brian, of Memphis, Brent James of Dallas, Texas, and Kathryn Gearhart of Plano, Texas; three great-grandsons, Andrew and William McBride and Kane Gearhart; one sister, Vonna Jean Swim and husband, Keith, of Corning; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 25, in Hoggard and Sons Chapel with David Pettis officiating.

Burial was in Piggott Cemetery with Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Van Taylor, Tommy Hardcastle, Gary Howell, Jason Howell, Thomas Sneed and Dr. Jerry Muse.
