Chamber banquet slated for Tuesday
The Piggott Area Chamber of Commerce's annual fall banquet is just around the corner.
The event will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, at the Piggott Community Center. Tickets are $12.50 per person and may be purchased in advance at Piggott State Bank, local merchants, at the door, or from any chamber member.
This year's theme is "Community on the Move." There will be a brief commentary about the local economy as it pertains to industry, retail and tourism.
The meal will be followed by the auction. The auction will be conducted by Piggott auctioneer Gary Magee.
A wide array of items from area businesses will be up for bid, including toy farm equipment collectibles, hair care products, gift certificates, and home decor accessories.
Tracey Mallard and Barry Johnson are in charge of accepting auction donations.
As always, a highlight of the fall banquet are the table decorations. Each business or organization decorates a table to reflect its own theme.
The public will be allowed to view the tables from 4 to 6 p.m. for a $1 donation to the chamber. Persons can vote for their favorite table for the People's Choice Award, which will be announced during the banquet.
Groups wishing to decorate tables may contact Katie Besserman or Barbara Harmon at 598-3802 or Judy Sharp at 598-1004.
