Stella McGee

Stella McGee, 88, of Rector died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, in the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.

She was born Nov. 28, 1914, in Oran, Mo., the daughter of the late William and Mary Riegert Halter.

She was united in marriage to Edgar Leon "Bud" McGee on Nov. 13, 1935. To this union one son was born.

She was preceded in death by six brothers, Jake, Johnny, Frank, Mattie, Martin, and William Halter; and two sisters, Kate Medley and Celia Taylor.

She is survived by one son, Leo McGee and wife, Arleene, of Rector; two grandchildren, Karen Deen and husband, Kevin, of Campbell and Walter McGee of Jonesboro; one great-grandson, Christian Deen; one step great-granddaughter, Elisha Deen; one sister, May Samples of DeQueen; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 28, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel. Burial was in Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway.

Pallbearers were Bud Taylor, J.W. Taylor, Dellane Halter, Sonny Cato, Eddie Lovins, and Eugene Parks.

Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
