Donald Hughes, 74, of Campbell died Sunday, March 9, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro.
He was born Oct. 14, 1928, in Piggott to Martin and Hettie Allman Hughes.
He was united in marriage to Marietta Daffron on Nov. 6, 1949, in Paragould.
Mr. Hughes worked in the salvage business and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Campbell.
He is survived by his wife, Marietta Hughes of Campbell; three daughters, Dr. Donetta Ginn and husband, Terry, of Memphis, Diana Graham and husband, Bob, of Nashville and Mary Frances Branham and husband, Adam, of Nashville; one son, Martin Hughes and wife, Kathy, of Nashville; one spiritually adopted daughter, Judy Oakes Akridge of Campbell; two brothers, Willard Hughes of Piggott and Delbert Hughes of St. Francis; three sisters, Lenora Dalton of Mich., June Rodney of Mich. and Elaine Mobley of Piggott; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five spiritually adopted grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at Calvary Baptist Church in Campbell with Bro. Tony Wood, Bro. James Epps, Bro. Mike Redman, Bro. Terry Ginn and Bro. Rick Pearson officiating. Burial followed in Gravel Hill Cemetery at St. Francis. Landess Funeral Home of Campbell was in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church in Campbell or St. Jude's Hospital in Memphis.
