Dr. Marvin "Wayne" Gould
Dr. Marvin "Wayne" Gould, 66, of Marmaduke died Friday, March 21, 2003, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.
He was born May 30, 1936, in Rector.
He was a minister, teaching for 37 years. He was the former principal of Marmaduke School, superintendent of Greenway School, high school principal at Delaplaine, college professor in Kingsville, Texas, and former Southeast Missouri State professor for 12 years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Stroud; grandparents, Marvin and Matilda Gould; one brother, James Stroud; and one sister; Melba Stroud.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Gould of Marmaduke; two daughters, Sherrie Gould of Marmaduke and Angie Batchelor of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; one brother; George Stroud of Bartleville, Okla.; three sisters, Joy Gregory of Paragould, Elva Janes of Memphis and Donna Shatley of Marmaduke; two grandchildren, Alex Gould of Marmaduke and Jackson Batchelor of Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday March 23, at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Rev. Everett Isom and Rex Darling officiating.
Burial was in Ramers Chapel Cemetery near Rector with Mitchell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Jerry Don Thompson, Donald Gibbs, Dewayne Boone, Randy Wyatt, Devon Hampton, and Ray Hale.
