Hoggard gets first collegiate win

Michael Hoggard, a former standout pitcher for the Piggott Mohawks, is currently in his sophomore year plating baseball for Harding University Bisons in Searcy.

Hoggard recently notched his first collegiate pitching win on February 15 with a win over Southwest Baptist College.

Hoggard's record currently stands at 1-2 on the year. The lefthanded hurler's first 2003 appearance was against the ASU Indians on February 11. Hoggard came on in relief in the ninth inning and suffered a 6-5 loss in 12 innings.

Hoggard's ERA is currently 3.12 putting him fifth on the Bison pitching staff of 11.

Last season Harding set several school records amd made it to the Gulf South Conference playoffs in Millington, Tenn. for the first time. Harding is looking to return to the playoffs again this year.
