Ruby Ethel Snider

Ruby Ethel Snider of Wappapello, formerly of Campbell, died Thursday, June 26, 2003, at River Oaks Care Center in Steele, Mo., at the age of 86 years, eight months and 25 days.

She was born Oct. 1, 1916, in Malden to Joseph H. McLemore and Carrie Isabell Pittman McLemore.

She was united in marriage to Fred E. Snider on Oct. 24, 1934, in Campbell.

Mrs. Snider was a housewife and a retired certified nurse's aid. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred E. Snider, on July 27, 1998; one half-brother, Thomas Houchin; one half-sister, Alma Houchin Manship; and two sisters, Edna Redmond and Agnes Duckett.

She is survived by one son, Jeffrey Dwight Snider and wife, Donna, of Caruthersville, Mo.; one grandson, Jason Dwight Snider and wife, Tara, of McGehee, Ark.; one step-granddaughter, Rhonda Mitchell and husband, Tim, of Sikeston, Mo.; two great-grandsons, Jason Dwight Snider, Jr., of McGehee, Ark., and Jackson Teague Snider of McGehee, Ark.; one step-great-granddaughter, Abbie Shelton of Sikeston, Mo.; and two sisters, Pansy McCleskey of Piggott and Henrietta Riege of Port Charlotte, Fla.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 2003 at Landess Funeral Chapel in Campbell with Rev. Amos Dees officiating. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery in Campbell.

Landess of Campbell was in charge of the arrangements.
