Pauline Hartsfield, 79, of Rector died Sunday July 20, 2003, at Piggott Community Hospital.

She was born Sept. 17, 1923, in Craighead County, the daughter of the late Doyle Hood and Lee (Drafton) Hood.

She was a homemaker, a member of Rector Extension Homemakers Club, and was of the Baptist faith.

She married Fred Hartsfield on Feb. 12, 1938. He preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 1991.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters and two grandchildren, Brandee Hartsfield and Doyle Hartsfield.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Fred and Lucille Hartsfield of Piggott and Bill and Betty Hartsfield of Boydsville; five brothers, John Hood of Eolia, Mo., Howard Hood of Eldon, Mo., and Darrell Hood, Byron Hood, and Ronnie Hood, all of Licking, Mo; four sisters, Carol Wantland of Raymondville, Mo, Barbara Hood and Alma Booker of Licking, Mo, and Frances Dixon of Eolia, Mo; four grandchildren, Billy Fred Harstfeld of Piggott, Brent Hartsfield of Conway, Brad Hartsfield of Porter, Okla., and Gerald Hartsfield of Boydsville; and nine great-grandchildren, Austin, Hayden, Holden, Gage, Colton, Wesley, Shelby, Dillan, and Kaylee.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, at Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Mike Book and Carl Thomason officiating.

Burial was in Leachville Cemetery in Leachville, Ark , with Irby Funeral Home of Rector in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were grandchildren Billy Fred Hartsfield, Brent Hartsfield, Brad Hartsfield, Gerald Hartsfield, Dillan Hartsfield, Austin Hartsfield, and Wesley Hartsfield.
