Mattie (Doris) V. Ball

She was born July 4, 1922, in Piggott. The daughter of the late William L. and Hazel Lee Farmer Turner.

She was united in marriage to W.L. Ball on Oct. 29, 1937. To this union four children were born. He preceded her in death in 1990.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

She is survived by four children, Winifred Ball of Columbiaville, Mich., Bonnie S. Gillis of Westerville, Ohio, Jerry W.L. Ball of Lincoln Park, Mich., and David L. Ball of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mattie Lee Hill of Orange Park, Fla.; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2003, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Charles Carrens officiating. Burial will follow in the Piggott Cemetery with Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
