Sarethna "Dina" Embry Robertson Stickney

Sarethna "Dina" Embry Robertson Stickney, 95, of Centralia, Mo., formerly of Renick, Mo., died at 6:35 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2003, at Loma Linda Nursing Home in Moberly, Mo.

Mrs. Stickney was born Feb. 18, 1908, in Crockett, to the late Allison Butler and Flora Katherine Embrey Embry. She grew up as a child in Piggott and later moved to St. Louis when she was a teenager.

Mrs. Stickney married Claude A. Robertson on June 30, 1926, and moved to Madison, Mo., in 1944 from St. Louis where they had lived since their teens. She worked most of her life in the medical field as a nurse at hospitals in St. Louis, Moberly, and Columbia, Mo. She also worked at nursing homes and in home health care. Mrs. Robertson and her husband built and operated Wildwood Nursing Home in Madison. It was a state of the art home in the late 1950's and is still in operation today.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Robertson. Mrs. Stickney then married Jewel Stickney of Renick, Mo., he also preceded her in death. Others preceding her in death were her son, Claude Buckley Robertson; four sisters, Otilla Blackshire, Gertrude Tipton, Pearl Gibbs and Ethel Haywood; and three brothers, Bradley Embry, Bruce Embry and Maurice Embry.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Eddie Swartz of Centralia, Mo.; five grandchildren, Claudine Kakac of Colorado; Ralph Robertson, Jan King, David Swartz and Becky Shultz, all of Centralia, Mo.; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two step-daughters; three great-step-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Memorials would be appreciated by the family to the Fair Haven Children's Home in Strafford, Mo.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday (today) at the Cater Funeral Home Chapel in Moberly, Mo., with Brother George Wisdom and Minister Lon Hardy officiating. Interment will be at Glendale Memorial Garden in Centralia, Mo.
