He was born Jan. 11, 1920, in Kennett, the son of the late James Edward and Neeley Ann King Jackson.
He was preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers.
Mr. Jackson was united in marriage to Cora L. Woolf on Feb. 24, 1940.
He served in the Marine Corps in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre in World War II and participated in the action against the enemy at Iwo Jima and the Volcano Islands in 1945.
He is survived by his wife, Cora Jackson of Piggott; three daughters, Barbara Jackson McCoskey and friend, Ron Rader, of Davisburg, Mich., Mary Ann Jackson and friend, Gary Petty, of Waterford, Mich., and Ruth Grossa and husband, Richard, of Redford, Mich.; one son, Tom V. Jackson and wife, Paula, of East Lansing, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday (today), Aug. 6, 2003, at the First Presbyterian Church in Piggott with Rev. Wilma Hoover officiating. Pallbearers will be Tom Jackson, Dick Grossa, Gary Petty, Ron Rader, Ken Stock, Brian Bickett and Manny Gallegos. Burial will be in the Piggott Cemetery.
