Roger Clay Nettles

Roger Clay Nettles, 67, a resident of Poplar Bluff since 1994, died Monday, July 28, 2003, at Three Rivers Healthcare-North Campus. His death was sudden and unexpected.

Mr. Nettles was born Jan. 22, 1936, in Detroit, Mich. By the time he was school age, his family had moved to Piggott. He graduated from Piggott High in 1954, where he was widely known for his superior athletic abilities. Mr. Nettles was retired manager for Smiley Container Corp. and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He served during the Korean Conflict.

He was united in marriage to Sept. 28, 1963, to Judith Keniston in St. Louis. She survives.

Other survivors include one daughter, Elizabeth Nettles of Springfield, Ohio; one son, Roger Clay Nettles, Jr., of Vancouver, Wash.; and one brother, James Nettles of Spokane, Wash.
