She was born June 29, 1920, in Crockett, the daughter of the late Ollie and Orpha Cochran Lawson.
She was united in marriage to John Cochran on June 28, 1936. To this union one daughter was born.
She was of the Baptist faith and attended True Light Missionary Baptist Church in McDougal.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Orville Lawson; and two sisters, Ruth LaFave and Clara Maxon.
She is survived by her husband, John Cochran of McDougal; one daughter, Imogene White and husband, Ray, of McDougal; one granddaughter, Trina Phillips and husband, Jerry, of Corning; two great-grandchildren, Chelsea Phillips and Kristopher Goodman of Corning; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Bro. Leon Harvey officiating. Burial followed in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard. Pallbearers were Kris Goodman, Wade White, Freddy White, Jerry Phillips, Terry Phillips and Britt Allmon.
Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
