Mitchell R. Johnson, 61, of DeSoto, Mo., formerly of Greenway, died Oct. 1, 2003, in Crystal City, Mo.

He was born Jan. 8, 1942, in Hayti, Mo., the son of Christine (Hargett) and Charlie C. "Todd" Johnson.

He was a graduate of Greenway High School. He worked as an inspector at General Motors. He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Festus.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Bill, Johnny Lynn, Sunny Dale and Willy Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, Mary K. (Causey) Johnson; his daughter, Melissa Cobb of DeSoto, Mo.; three sons, Martin and Myron Johnson, both of Festus, Mo., and Matthew Johnson and wife, Batina, of DeSoto, Mo.; two sisters, Sally Norman of Hillsboro, Mo., and Joy Seidl of DeSoto, Mo.; four brothers, Charlie Johnson of Festus, Mo., Jack Johnson of DeSoto, Mo., Phil Johnson of Crystal City, Mo., and Jerry Johnson of Bowling Green, Ky.; eight grandchildren, Justin, Brandon, Cody, Morgan, Broxtyn and Jacob Johnson and Blake and Trey Cobb; and his mother-in-law, Dora Causey of Piggott.

Funeral services were held Oct. 4 from Mahn Funeral Home in Festus, Mo., to United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Arnold Mangus officiating. Interment followed in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Mahn Funeral Home of Festus, Mo., was in charge of the arrangements.
