Lena Chloe Book

Lena Chloe Book, 87, of Conway, formerly of Malden, died Friday, Oct. 24, 2003, at her home in Conway.

She was born Feb. 2, 1916, in Bernie, Mo., to the late Marion and Florence Cross Mills.

She was united in marriage to Horner Book on March 10, 1940, in Piggott. He preceded her in death on May 21, 1990.

Mrs. Book was a Sunday school teacher, a teacher's aide and a frequent volunteer at the Malden Nutrition Center. She worked as a homemaker. Mrs. Book was a member of Bethany General Baptist Church in Campbell.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ollie Petty and Etoil Howe; and three brothers, Everett Mills, Harold Mills and Wendell Mills.

She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Rapp and husband, Michael, of Conway; two sons, Neil Book and wife, Gail, of Rolla, Mo., and Leon Book and wife, Patricia, of Cape Girardeau; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, at Bethany General Baptist Church in Campbell with Pastor Bryan Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Bethany Cemetery in Campbell.

Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden is in charge of the arrangements.
