He was born in Greenway, the son of Singleton and Jane Copeland.
He was retired from Memphis LGW and served in the Navy during World War II. He was a long time member of Wells Station Baptist Church.
After moving to Piggott, he joined First Baptist Church of Piggott.
He leaves behind his wife, Jewel Smith Copeland; one son, Michael Copeland of Staunton, Va.; two daughters, Kathy Copeland of Rogers, Ark., and Ann Lowe of Brighton, Tenn.; and four grandsons.
Graveside services were held on Sunday, Nov. 16, at Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway with Bro. Ernest Maynard officiating.
Memorials may be sent to Mission House in care of First Baptist Church of Piggott.
Irby Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
