May Sample

May Sample, 86, of DeQueen, Ark., formerly of Nimmons died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003, in the DeQueen Regional Medical Center in DeQueen, Ark.

She was born Jan. 16, 1917, in Sevier County near DeQueen, Ark. She was the daughter of the late Will and Mary Reigert Halter.

She was united in marriage to Lester Sample on Nov. 30, 1935, to this union two daughters were born.

She was preceded in death by six brothers, Jake Halter, Martin Halter, Mattie Halter, Louis Halter, Johnny Halter and Frank Halter; her twin brother; three sisters, Kate Medley, C.E. Taylor and Stella McGee.

She is survived by her husband, Lester Sample of DeQueen, Ark.; two daughters, Katherine Langlois and husband, Tim, of DeQueen, Ark., and Veda Strait of Hot Springs, Ark.; five grandchildren, Kristi Lambert of Dierks, Ark., Kari Rachel of Arlington, Texas, T.J. Langlois of DeQueen, Ark., Lori Taddonio of Arlington, Texas, and Kevin Langlois of DeQueen, Ark.; nine great grandchildren, Melissa, Ashley, Andrea, Brittany, Bethany, Keiton, Courtney, Dylan and Kaleigh; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with T.J. Langlois officiating. Burial followed in the Piggott Cemetery, in Piggott. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
