Donald Rex Causey

Donald Rex Causey, 75, of Blytheville died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, in the Baptist Hospital East in Memphis.

He was born Sept. 9, 1928, near Piggott, son of the late James Riley and Addie Keith Causey.

He was united in marriage to June Marie Piland on Jan. 16, 1951. To this union three children were born.

Mr. Causey was a long-time member of Fairview Baptist Church and had accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at a very early age. He was a dedicated Christian, loving husband, father and papaw to his grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was one daughter, Sandra; and three brothers, William, Edward and Jewel.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, June Marie; two sons, Gerald Donald Causey of Claremore, Okla. and Kenneth Elton Causey of Claremore, Okla.; a daughter, Susan Marie Howard of Blytheville; one sister, Ruth Marie Hunter of Tulsa, Okla.; five grandchildren, Sara Causey of Claremore, Okla., Lydia and Claire Howard of Blytheville, and Dora and Ken Causey of Claremore, Okla.; and many cherished friends and relatives.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan.12, 2004, at the Fairview Baptist Church in Blytheville with Larry Haynes officiating. Burial followed in the Piggott Cemetery in Piggott. Pallbearers were his nephews. Honorary pallbearers included Carroll Davison, Chuck Williams, Ken Gipson, Tommy Mason, Alvin Webster, Rick Elder and Fred Roberts. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home in Piggott was in charge of all arrangements.
