Richard Earl Randolph, 59, of Dexter died on Jan. 1, 2004, at his residence in Dexter.

He was born Jan. 30, 1944, in Piggott, the son of Donald Eugene and Lona LaVern Randolph.

He was united in marriage to Shirley Lee Rogers on March 19, 1965. To this union two children were born.

Mr. Randolph was a member of the Piggott High School Class of 1962. He was a member of the Second General Baptist Church in Dexter where he devoted much of his time. He had been the laboratory manager for the Corning Community Hospital at Corning, Ark., from 1979-1983. He then became laboratory manager at Missouri Southern Healthcare at Dexter from 1983-2002. He was named manager of the year at Missouri Southern Healthcare in 2001. Mr. Randolph was in the United States Naval Reserve from 1986-1994, where he was a Second Class Petty Officer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Eugene and Lona LaVern Randolph; and two brothers, Donald Lee Randolph and Ferris Leland Randolph.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Lee Randolph of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy Lynne Wilcox and husband, Brian, of Dexter and Cheryl Leigh Edwards and husband, David, of Corning; three grandchildren, Mandy Lynne, Michael Glenn and Tyler Allen; his special sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, 2004, at the Second General Baptist Church in Dexter with Pastor Phil Warren and Pastor Larry Hughes officiating. Burial followed in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter. Pallbearers were Richard Hart, Ron Hardin, Curt Billongsley, David Garner, Matt Swift, Dr. James Kehoe, Gabe Smith and Paul Fishcher.

Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home of Dexter was in charge of the arrangements.
