She was born on May 15, 1924, in McDougal, the daughter of the late William and Clara-Fusion Hayes Nicholson.
She was united in marriage to Edward A. Phillips on March 7, 1941. They had four sons.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward A. Phillips in 1995; one son, Michael Edward Phillips in 1963; one brother, Chester Nicholson; and one sister, Effie Blakeburn.
She is survived by three sons, Dennis Phillips and wife, Sandi, of Michigan City, Aaron Philips of O'Fallon, Mo., and Larry Phillips of Arnold, Mo.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 25, 2004, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Loy Culver officiating. Burial followed in Post Oak Cemetery in McDougal. Pallbearers were J.R. Pace, Ray White, Delmar Rigdon, Warner Kilbreath, Devon Young, Robert Welty and Wayne Allman.
Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
