Roxie Mae Moore Brent

Roxie Mae Moore Brent, 109, of Poplar Bluff, formerly of Pollard, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, in the Cedar Gate Nursing Home in Poplar Bluff.

She was born June 2, 1895, in Mississippi, the daughter of the late John T. and Eunie Floyd Hughes.

She married J.A. Moore on January 15, 1915. To this union four sons were born. He preceded her in death on Nov. 22, 1969. She married C.L. Brent and he also preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by four sons, Cecil Moore, Clovis Moore, Bobby Moore and Billy Moore; seven grandchildren, Jimmy Moore, Loyd Moore, Kenneth Moore, Patricia Moore, Charlene Moore, Joe Harold and Bobby Don Moore; one great grandson, Larry Don Killian; and nine brothers and sisters.

She is survived by one sister, Bertha Johnson; 21 grandchildren, Donna Hinkson, Gary Moore, Larry Moore, Robert Moore, Suveda Mozingo, Ricky Moore, David Moore, Brenda Scheffler, Shirley Moore, Jerry Moore, Sandy Shelton, Nancy Stoneshipher, Ronnie Moore, Melissa Moore Fitzwater, Stephen Moore, Shelia Nichols, John Moore, Kathy Moore, Jamie Moore, Maggie Moore and Dawn Moore; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; two great-great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 21, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Robert Moore officiating.

Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery in Pollard.

Active pallbearers were Josh Fitzwater, Dustin Fitzwater, John Fitzwater, Delaine Moore, Matthew Moore and John Moore. Honorary pallbearers were her grandchildren.

Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
