Pamela Elaine "Pam" (Burdin) Layton, 51, of Harrisburg, died on Saturday, March 5, 2005, at her home.
Mrs. Layton was born Jan. 27, 1954, in Texas, the daughter of David Baggs and Mary Eaton Baggs.
She was an L.P.N. and had previously worked st several area nursing homes. She was a graduate of Black River Vo-Tech in Pocahontas and a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church near Harrisburg.
She married Charles E. Layton on May 3, 1997, and they enjoyed nearly eight years together. SHe loved to crochet and write and wrote several articles and poems.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Baggs.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Layton of the home; her father, David Baggs of Burkeburnett, Texas; one son, Terry Randall Burdin II of Piggott, who is currently serving in Iraq; one daughter, Tonya Renee McKenzie and her husband, Michael, of Grayville, Ill.; three sisters, Judy Brawley of Yukon, Okla., Ann Moyer of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Jan Collins of Huber Heights, Ohio; one brother, Tim Baggs of Wichita Falls, Texas; and five grandchildren, Quade McKenzie, Tyler McKenzie, Anton Linder, Bailey Burdin and Libby Burdin.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2005, at Weston Funeral Service Chapel in Harrisburg with Rev. Gary Brown and Rev. Greg Leatherwood officiating. Burial followed in Holly Springs Cemetery in Harrisburg. Pallbearers were Greg Leatherwood, Levi Kinman, Frank Hinshaw, Lewis J. Layton, Carl Wilson and Howard Hitt.
