Mollie Montgomery Johnson

Mollie Montgomery Johnson, 93, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, May 16, 2005, in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Feb. 5, 1912, the daughter of the late Edward Moss Montgomery and Georgeann Cathey Montgomery. She was a homemaker, a member of Maple United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau and an active member of the United Methodist Women. She and her husband, the late Rev. Kern Johnson, formerly served St. Francis and Wright's Chapel.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill Montgomery, Jude Montgomery and John Montgomery; and three sisters, Bernice Story, Mildred Hastings and Monell Roach.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty J. Nichols of Pollard and Ina R. Mann of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Alma Lassiter of Cave City and Audrey Roach of Sandtown; four grandchildren, Sabrina Nichols Woolverton, Sondra Nichols Sampson, David Nichols and Kevin Johnson Mann; seven great-grandchildren, Lindsey Woolverton Conwell, Drew Keith Woolverton, Cole Johnson Mann, Tate Nichols, Savannah Sampson and Skylar Sampson; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2005 , at Roller-Crouch/McGee Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with J.W. Roach officiating. Burial followed in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Batesville. Pallbearers were Keith Woolverton, Donald Hastings, Jeral Hastings, Dean Hastings, Mac Roach and Calvin Lassiter.
