Opal Thomas, 79, of Piggott died Monday, April 17, 2006, at Piggott Community Hospital.

She was born Dec. 31, 1926, in Crockett, the daughter of the late John Henry and Ina Branson Easterwood.

She was united in marriage to Clarence "Wimpy" Thomas on Nov. 29, 1947. They had three children.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Lloyd Easterwood.

She is survived by her husband, Clarence "Wimpy" Thomas of Piggott; three children, Janice Johnson, Eddie Thomas and wife, Sue, and Robin Harmon, all of Piggott; four grandchildren, Jim Roberts, Amy McPherson, Mandi Pickering and Bradley Harmon; one brother, Floyd Easterwood of Piggott; one sister, Clara Sterling of St. Louis; two sisters-in-law, Georgia Redman of Piggott

and Juanita Riddle of Burton, Mich.; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday (today), April 19, 2006, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Charles Richardson officiating. Burial will be in the Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway.
