James "Pete" Reeves

He was born June 16, 1936, in Piggott, the son of the late Jeff Duty and Opal Reeves Duty.

He was united in marriage to Renate Conley on Nov. 17, 1990.

He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Piggott, a veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of Masonic Lodge number 545.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ronnie Duty.

He is survived by his wife, Renate Reeves of Piggott; three children, Laura Worley of Marlow, Okla., Steven Earl Reeves of Pheonix and Mona Scott of Piggott; six grandchildren, Eric, Kelli, Shelley, Missy, Blaire and Ty; three great-grandchildren, Jake, Jacob and Kaylee; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2006, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Kevin Murray officiating. Burial followed in the Piggott Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Roger Scott, Mike Scott, Wayne Walker, Thomas Sneed, Rick Pearson and Jamie Wilson. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Hoggard, Dewey Holcomb, Jim Hoggard and Milan Seal.

Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
