Vernetta Holifield, 61, of Corning, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2006.

She was born Feb. 19, 1945, in McDougal to Cletus Doyle Tinsley and Nettie Laverne (Miller) Tinsley. Miss. Holifield was a CNA and a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, a daughter, Kimberly Nixon and a brother, Dale Tinsley.

She is survived by one son, Jeffrey Nixon of Corning; a daughter, Kendra Duncan of Corning; her mother, Nettie Tinsley of Piggott; five brothers, Gary Tinsley of Greenway, Charles Tinsley of Paragould, Gerald Tinsley of Greenway, Reginald Tinsley of Donphan, Mo. and Dennis Tinsley of Hayti, Mo, and 4 grandchildren.

Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 12. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 13 at Ermert Funeral Home Chapel in Corning. Internment was in Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway.
