Despite a couple of bases-loaded scares in the seventh inning, the Piggott Lady Mohawks downed the Hoxie Mustangs 6-4 Monday afternoon at Independence Park. Erica Rickman got the win, pitching the full seven innings, in the process striking out six Lady Mustangs.

For the Tribe, Casey Mauldin, Jessica Ingram and Natalie Branscum had two hits apiece, as they improved to 7-5 on the season.

Going into the seventh inning the Lady Mohawks enjoyed a 6-2 lead, but Rickman began to have control problems. With the bases loaded the Lady Mustangs scored a run on a fielder's choice, and then Rickman walked-in a run to make it 6-4. But the senior continued to battle for the final out, notching the complete-game win.

The Lady Mohawks were scheduled to host Marmaduke for a double-header Tuesday afternoon, and are scheduled to play another twin-bill at Brookland on Thursday.
